Only human can think that alien would immediately want to destroy humanity. No, other species are not such a destructive morons like humans are. Also even if aliens did attack humans, where's the downsides? Pests would be eradicated, big deal.

I can't know something for sure unless I have means of proving it, either by sight, touch, sound, smell or taste. Therefore, I would hope to have either seen, felt, heard, smelled or tasted them to know they exist... Preferably the former options, not the latter...
