why not, it does not say you have to use it. it can be really helpful in some situations. ? got cancer and have 1 week to live? travel to a time where they can cure it. getting almost hit by a car? travel a few seconds until the car has past you.

the problem is, with finding time travel machines in the future, is that you cannot physically travel into the past. that is not a loophole. on the other hand if you go the end of time and the go out the other end at the start, you can travel back in time.
