Emotion is subjective. Without any sadness or strife, we wouldn't have an appreciation for happiness and kindness. Today, kindness is novel because so many people act shitty. If everyone was kind, nobody would appreciate it as it would be the norm.

Why would you not press the button, its an ability, at some point in your life right before you are going to die just do this. Its no loss to you if you do this before you die, and no loss to have the ability to do so during your life.
