Actually it never says they will gain a pound every time you press the button. They only gain 1 pound ever. Also I have decided that since it does not say, it will be a pound in money, not a pound in weight. I will make my boyfriend rich.

Closest could mean person most dear to you or someone standing next to you, so yes because I can walk up to someone I don't like and press a button. OR I can press the button and the person most dear to me gains one pound of money, food, jewels, etc. They never say what the one pound is
