Ok, so the human skeleton accounts for 14% of a person"s total body weight. A 200 pound (90 kg) person would have a skeleton that weighs about 27.5 pounds (12.5 kg). Even if you triple the bone density you"re only adding 55 pounds (25 kg), which most peopl...[Show full comment]

The density of bone is around 1 g/cm^3. The density of iron is approximately 7.9 g/cm^3. In that case it's around 8x the density, giving you around 86 kg extra. Iron isn't even the heaviest of metals. The density of Tungsten is 19.3 g/cm^3, giving you around 229 kg extra.

"Your bones and unbreakable" <--- bad grammar alert! btw, there is actually no upside, because your light bones that are so strong give you enough strength to stand up but with heavy metal bones, it would be physically impossible for probably most of human history.

So after 6 months say, if I constantly moved around and just tried to get on with life, I'd be unbreakable AND hench as fuck. People would help feed me if I couldn't move. My family's nice like that, I don't think they'd let me die because I suddenly wished for unbreakable bones.I see no downside.

If you pressed it: It doesn't specify how long it would take for you to build up the strength. If you didn't: Usually, bones are hard to press anyway.

Um, almost anything that would break bone could cause actual lasting damage, I could have joints dislocated and hyperextended, my squishy organs and soft tissues would be more likely to sustain trauma than anything, speed vs. slight durability.
