The wishes are used against YOU. For example, if the enemy wishes for a million dollars, then as much of it as possible is taken from your bank account, but if you don’t have enough, then you become in debt by the mafia.

I pressed it, and the reason why is because you don't have to make a wish. You get a genie lamp, but you could just give the lamp to someone else who doesn't have the downside.

Because you get a genie. Even if the genie would use the wishes against you, you should just simply not wish for anything. Instead, have someone else wish the three wishes. It never said the genie was limited to granting wishes only for you.

They’ll just screw you over by doing something like “you get unlimited wishes but they have to be detrimental” because you just wished for that. The wish of having bad wishes is already turned against you so you’ll just get exactly what you asked for, bad wishes.
