This flawed because if overpopulation becomes a thing, there won't be enough resources to satisfy everyone"s needs and that includes food. So you would temporarily end it.

well i mean this is kind of contradictory? if no one is hungry then the death rate is going to go way down. by the DTM, countries would become developed pretty fast, and then their population growth would level out.
