Travelling back in time is not possible since it forms a paradoxial situation. What if you go back in time and kill your dad. That makes your existence paradoxial

Can? You don't have to use your power. If you're about to be killed, you appear a few hours into the future. Easy! I really see no reason why you wouldn't get this.

Those 60% of people who pressed the button are really idiots. It says "You can" Just press the button, you will have the power forever and you can do it at any time you wish.You don't have to do it. Could come in handy.
