Fail to see the downside. There would have to be a physical button, of course, as this digital button cannot be "touched" per se, but with a small physical button to keep on you at all times, spurts of immortality could prove very useful. That or implanting it like Erik said.

Tape the button to my body and then when I'm done take it off and whatever happens happens. If this button was real I could get a lot done before death but not have to worry about being stuck immortal for all eternity
