Then I evolve it into a Butterfree and it's awesome. Plus it never it said I couldn't catch anything else, it just seems that it's the only one I had. Like a starter.

Metapod can use bug bite so you could level it up and evolve it into beedrill it doesn't say you have to keep it as a metapod.
