Technically the downside says "*the* game", which means that it doesn't necessarily mean you have to beat Dark Souls, but regardless, cheats exist for a reason. Even Kirito cheated to help them in SAO stuff, iirc.

Umm... You can always edit save files and stuff so you can spawn indefinitely, so why not alter "Dark Souls" and give yourself god-mode or insta-win? Then breeze through that game and transfer to the game of your choosing... (It never said that you can't cheat/code prior or during)

Dark Souls has a sort of respawn so and you get magic and stuff AND on top of that you don't have to be the main protagonist! you could just follow some player dude around and do all the stuff you do to win the game just before they do it!
