Just keep a bank of your own blood. If you ever get stuck you can just touch your own dna and transform back. It never said that you lost the ability when you where stuck.

I don't think you all understand what DNA is. it just codes for different proteins which then decide your traits. You can't mix two species DNA because there are different numbers of chromosomes in each species and each needs a match. You would get a mental issue or just die.
