as far as specs are concerned memory usually refers to ram so im ok with it getting wiped since it wouldn't really affect anything

I'm just going to technically my way out of this one... technically hard drive storage isn't memory, but RAM is, and that"s wiped clean every time you reboot the computer. So now I can simulate the entire universe in real time with no downsides
