The problem is, is that they cant transfer your consciousness into the new body. YOU will die, the other thing will be under the command if it's own consciousness...

I clicked the button then i thought about it! At first i thought "Downside please, besides leaving a trail of dead yous." Then I realized that just because you get cloned, doesn't mean your consciousness is transferred to it!

How would i know? How would i know i just wasn't teleported? I'd be afraid at first. but one Near Death Experience which i teleported from, and it restored me to full health, i might just start not caring.

Someone's watched the Prestige a bit too much. This is a rather moot point. All this suggests is that my mind teleports, manifests a new body, while leaving the old one behind. A pretty lame-minded idea of teleportation.

This is the exact reason why a teleported like in Star Trek is not feasible. Those who said yes, I am not sure you realize you'd be ending your own existence and being replaced with a mere copy. It would be literal suicide.

i cant reply to replies but i should say that clones already exist. For example, the species of banana that we eat was cloned from one single plant. every banana is a clone. We have also cloned sheep and other animals. however, humans have never been cloned.
