Your perspective of past depends on what date/year/day/month/etc you are in therefore, as you cannot change the past, you can't use any of the information you have gathered to inform historians

This is actually the ideal time travel; as humans cannot screw up our past. Most people would go back in time and try to save people, lets say, President Lincoln. That"d have endless downsides, so it"s really just best to watch.

Something I"ve noticed...people are so concerned about going back in time, changing one small thing, and messing up the future. Yet no one thinks about how what they do right now can change the future.
