It's not like you "need" to teleport if you press the button. You just gain the ability. No reason not to press it.

Where is the downside? would you rather be able to not teleport than to teleport but not bring your clothes? You can still go where ever you like normally and have clothes ?

Since you just gain the ability, doesn't mean you have to use it frequently. You could use it to save your life if necessary, or you could use it to travel between wardrobe closets. No downside.

It won't work; you can never bring clothes to your destination. This means that if you are carrying clothes in your hands when teleporting, they don't come with you.
