They never said it"s a good book. Does a book in which the main focus of the book is everyone dying sound like a good book? Sounds boring to me. Multiple hundred pages of people coughing up blood or whatever.

This would be horrible an heartbreaking to read, but it could be countered if the characters are dying from something (but still something awful) related to old age after living a long, good life.
