Just because you couldn't go back to earth doesn't mean no communication or anything like that. You can make some sort of agreement with nasal or something to enable communication and getting things you want.

Realistically, blinking to a nwe planet means you could either die from new species and predators OR lack of sustenance. Or you could find a planet that sustains extra terrestrial life that has built a space craft to get you back to earth
