The stipulations don't say you can't intervene somehow and prevent (or rather, delay) the death. And if that catch is in effect... at least you've got fair warning. Either way you'll rake up on celebrity dead pools.

ANYONE includes yourself. Also, this would make a kick-ass anime. Protagonist gets power, uses deaths of other people to earn money somehow and/or make them happy before they die (genre varying) but gets framed for the deaths.
