You CAN choose not to see it and you can delay or change the way you die. Sight can be a powerful mutation. Technically you could see every moment a second before it happens.

If you can see your own death, and you cannot change how you die, become a superhero. Any insane stunt you pull off wouldn't end in your death, you already know how that happens.
