One, I only speak english to begin with. Two, watch literally anything without subtitles, and understand the lyrics to any foreign song. This would also open up my ability to collect new knowledge. No downside.

I thought that too until I remembered English speakers use non-English words all the time. You wouldn't even be able to say most people's names. Potentially even your own.

Modern English borrows from a lot of other languages (especially French), and I'm assuming you won't be able to use any of those borrowed words or phrases, so... No.

Loophole in the wording. You can never say "a word" that isn't english. So you could still speak other languages, just not be able to say the words "a" and "word". Boom.

This only makes sense for people who only speak English anyway. I'd be losing the ability to speak with a good portion of my family so no. You can always learn a new language if you need to.

Eh. I found a loophole. If you say a bunch of words realllllly fast, it"s considered one word. So if you were to say a bunch of words realllllly fast. It"s a loophole.

i already COULD understand any language... if i learned it. this is a trick. either its saying you used to be able to, or you have the potential to learn any language. at the cost of never being able to say english
