@DurpyKitty Root beer used to be a type of tea, called Hire’s Root Tea. However, the miners, whom the drink was made for, wouldn’t drink any beverage called tea. So, the name was changed to Hire’s Root Beer. As such, typically, it doesn’t contain alcohol. But it could be made with alcohol in it.

Why would I want to drink something that hurts my tounge/throat and doesn't even taste that good? As long as I can keep my iced tea, I'm fine losing any other flavored beverage.
