Why would you not push the button? You can literally just chose not to use powers and your lifespan doesn't decrease. Use it for stuff like teleporting, near instantaneous things, a second of power use would be half an hour of your life. Be invincible for a moment before a motorcycle crash.

Only use my powers for less than 24 hours which will need a stopwatch every time and I must use powers like teleportation which are almost instant as if I used flight depending on how I use it will take a very long time

Hold on if I shapeshift is it just the time while I'm shapeshifting or also while I'm in a different form I think it would be just while in the process of shapeshifting so if I make it instant the downside doesn't effect anything.
