It'd be nice to create a game, rather than to not have created it at all. Besides if it was the greatest ever, everyone would want a GameCube and demand would call for a reboot of the GameCube. No downside

If it is for the Gamecube. Wii U can play Gamecube games from the original Wii menu. So, technically it would still be playable.
