As a native English speaker who has never managed to learn another language: Yes, English is garbage. "it can be understood through tough thorough thought though". However, any standardized language, no matter how bad, is still a net positive and solves a lot of problems.

This question is something that my autistic classmate would asky. This has no down side for people that speak English. Which is the largest spoken language in the world. A better question would have been if the downside was if the language was a dead language like Ancient Greek or Latin.

English is already quickly becoming a lingua franca (universal language), so even if I don't press the button it will still happen.
