The loss of earth would cause massive change in the solar system and may even cause the downfall of mars. On top of that our space travel wouldn't develop fast enough to leave the system within 500 years. It sounds great but the risk is too high.

I'm pretty sure earth will not be livable in 500 years. I'm not hopeful for humanities survival. If we survive, hopefully we will learn our lesson and not fuck up an entire planet because everyone wanted nice things like fast cars, cheap energy, steak, and a lot of money.
