Fear of heights is different. The fear of heights is impulsive, you can't tell your mind that you wont fall. Same as fear of spiders even though you can easily squash the thing.

You could do this: First day after gaining the power, fly 10 cm high (~4 inches). Next day fly 20 cm high (~8 inches), then 40 (~16), then 80 (~32) etc. This way you can get rid of the fear!

If it's possible to conquer the fear, I would do my best, but if not, at least I can still hover close to the ground and be a badass.
