First of all shoes & secondly why are monetary scenarios always in dollars? There"s other currencies you could use, 1 million in US $ would be approximately £900,000 - £950,00 which is something people don't think about when dealing with this type of scenario.

1. It doesn't actually hurt -that- much. and 2. It doesn't say you can't wear shoes. So give me that million and every morning for the rest of my life, I'll put on my shoes and step on a lego as I leave the house. I'll cement it into the doormat of my mansion.

If you know how to step on them, it doesn't even hurt ._. I mean, I used to walk barefoot on rocks and it didn't hurt because I kept walking normally instead of tensing up.
