What's with these downsides that basically contradict the benefit? I get if it's a downside that would make you consider using the benefit moderately, but making it to where you never want to use it is stupid

I draw a picture of a superpower ring then use my mind to 'move' it from the part to reality...then I put it on my finger. One of its powers is to profoundly increase all my durabilities and resistances... Including pain resistances.
