It sounds like he"s trying to say that when you get to that period of time you will lose one of your senses. Eye sight, hearing, etc. But when you get back to your present time that sense will we appear.

I think it"s saying that you can travel to any point, ever, but you can't use your powers until you get back into the present. This is probably difficult when traveling in the future, though, because you can't go back in time without your powers that you don't have...

I think it"s saying you'll lose a random sense of your body (touch, taste, etc.) when you travel back, but you'll gain it back when you go back to the present.

My interpretation is that you lose one of your senses (sight, smell, hearing for example) at random when you are traveling through time, and you can’t get that sense back unless you go back to the present.

If I loose a sense I do t care since of touch I can train myself in that blind I can learn echo location deaf I can learn sign language since of smell who needs it my taste I don't mind that my sixth since I can learn to be more cautious as I won't be able to predict things as easy
