The problem with one"s like this where you get a power but there is a problem inherent to it, thus pressing the button has no unavoidable downside you can just live your life and have this cool power for emergencies.

Well why not? Even if you lose them at least you have superpowers. These buttons where the negatives just limit the positives are completely pointless, its just giving you a slightly less good version of the power
