To avoid killing off someone with first wish just do this. Wish 1: for my first two wishes the people will resurrect immidietly. Wish 2: None of my wishes from here on out will cause anyone harm unless by my own intention.

Wish for everyone to survive when you make a wish. One loved one will die but your second wish can be that that loved one comes back to life.

My first and only wish would be that the next 10 lottery tickets I buy are winners of the maximum possible amount for that lottery at that time. then I would let the money I would get take care of the rest of me and my surviving families desires.
