Who says fishing simulators just have to contain fishing, make an entire GTA style open world where you can do crazy s*** and market it as a fishing simulator while letting them know it really isn't. It could also have really deep lore (think fnaf) and have skyrim-like worlds too.

Make a fishing simulator, and add a minigame thats literally a whole ass other game, and presto! You have mostly avoided the downside!

They did not say what kind of fishing game.... You could make a game where you're a demon fighter looking for the holy fish to cleanse the ocean of unholy fire... Sounds like a boss ass fishing game to me
