There is no downside. If you really need $500 you can have it anytime you want, you just have to work for it. Allso, you would only need to assemble 26 of the fifty pieces to make it legal tender.

That's only $16800 a year. Considering that taping together 50 tiny pieces a day in order to make the money usable would basically be a full time job, I'm going to say this is not worth it.

You only have to have 51% of a bill then you can take it to a bank and they will give you a new one. So you would only have to put 26 pieces together.

Hey, as long as you can recover at least 51% of a damaged dollar bill, the government will replace it with a full dollar bill.
