Being the best detective, I'd find who it was and take them out/arrested, baring that I would just know all his or her plans and avoid them, minor annoyance

You guys are kinda not getting it though, if you were the best detective and there was an assassin after you, how would you know that there is an assassin after you until after they attempt to kill you
