but

Every copy you make requires you to experience the exhaustion as if you took the time to make it completely by hand

I don't see why you wouldn't want to press the button. If you don't want to experience any exhaustion, then just don't make a copy. It could still be useful for smaller things that require little effort, and you never know when a power might be useful.
