Honestly "near" the speed of light isn't that fast. It would probably take you around nine minutes just to get from Earth to the sun.

Hanifa Lutfi 13 years ago
So basically the TARDIS?

Yeah ok I'll get lost at one point but it didn't say I never found my way back. I could just be lost for a day or two and go back just fine.

Like the movie lost in space

Or the show

Houseofbrick 9 years ago
Um... NEAR the speed of light? Er.. no, no way are you going to be discovering new planets let alone new GALAXIES, these are things that are many light years away, with a spaceship going NEAR spaceship it would take millions of light years, maybe billions just to get to the nearest galaxy.

loopholeseeker321 9 years ago
It never said you get lost in space for 1 second :-)

Near speed of light pretty much means that I'm not getting anywhere. That sounds pretty lame to me.

abcx 9 years ago
+loophole master13 It would take you like 1.5 years just to leave our solar system including the Oort cloud

At the speed of light, it would take around 20 years to reach the closest solar system. SO I assume some sort of induced coma or such would be applied?

That first point contradicts itself, while the second post actually indirectly would already happen. "Near speed of light" is still too slow to make it to a nearby solar system - let alone galaxies; "alternate universes" cannot be traveled to by way of sp... [Show full comment]
