People already lost their smell in accidents. I had a TBI and lost my sense of smell. People say you couldn't taste. I still can. So yep.

If you lose your sense of smell, you will also lose most of your sense of taste. If you hold your nose (or just not breathe) while eating something, won't taste as much flavor.
