You would not always feel like you are drowning. Only when you would have been drowning is the only time you feel it, and you don't ACTUALLY feel the effects if drowning.

well my grandfather once drowned, but was resuscitated, and he said that the feeling of his lungs being filled with water was actually very soothing, in a fucked up way. So thats fine with me.
