If I "learn" telekinesis, that means that it can be taught. Therefore I could spread the gift to humanity, all at the cost of not being able to feel my legs!

yup like cause your spine is still there so you can still walk but the nerves there just cant feel a thing and you know what a man is cannot fell pain so it is like numbness and it is around his entire body but he can still walk and it is real
