This is a life of dreams - why WOULD you need the internet? For most people, the internet is their escape from reality. Why need an escape while you literally have the best reality someone can ask for?

It's the internet; not the information on it; that goes away. That means what ceases to exist is the network cables. Best guess is 4 months to a years before full service comes back online - so if you can live without cat videos for a year, go ahead and press the button.
