That would be AWESOME. Okay BUT WAIT. It says "as a ghostly image" so what if all the ghosts from now, who people say they see sometimes, are actually people from the future? That explains why we don't notice anything
You can't change the past, but it would be possible to change the future this way. By travelling to it and learning new things, then applying that knowledge in the present, you could effectively accelerate the development of technology by hundreds of years.

Going “back to any point in time” doesn’t mean “going to the future.” Besides, when you return, you will be a ghostly image that can’t alter any events. So… no loophole for you.

To those who want to use it for historical research, may I remind you that your perspective of past present and future depends on the point of time you"re at for you, in say, 2017 all you"re doing is helping the scientific community, but for the people in ...[Show full comment]

Actually you are creating their past, you can't change what hasn't happened.

The only way time travel could be possible... your very presence can change things in the past, so this way, literally nothing could change. It'd be like Harry Potter (Tom Riddle's diary-style) more than Doctor Who...

Stop. Having. No. Downside. This isn't even a punishment for activation- it's just a nifty ability working slightly differently than expected. Zero downside.
