There is a lot you can do without the internet. You have infinite power on a laptop. You can charge anything anywhere, with no limitations, and if you are the type that does a lot of offline activities, like writing, art, offline games, etc, you have a constant portable, free computer to do them on.

I use Tumblr a lot. But...to only ever be able to visit Tumblr and the only plus side is unlimited wifi and no plugging in chargers? Nope.
