I pressed the button, but eventually cancer can mutate to become immune to the cure, so the cure would only work for a little, but become harder to find another cure after this one.But to save even a few lives is worth it

See, here's the problem with the cure for cancer. As soon as it's discovered, it will be destroyed. Rich corporations don't want people to have a one-time payment to cure their loved ones cancer; instead, they multiple large payments over a long period of time. So, the cure would be worthless.

It doesn't say that I'm going to die right now, it just says that I will die of cancer. That makes it a win-win, because I know exactly how I'm going to die, and I get confirmation that the cure for cancer will be discovered after my death.
