We would still have the scientific advances in our brains all we"d need to do is rebuild. Yes there would be a lot of life lost, but for the trade that violence would never be an issue again. Imagine the advances that could be made while all races work together instead of against each other.

Not a wise button to press--eventually, that peaceful, prosperous planet full of people would encounter a danger that we need advanced technology to combat. Peace and prosperity does no good if everyone dies from, say, an asteroid that you couldn't detect because you no longer have telescopes.
