I pressed the button. I'll go to Hogwarts and then drop out the day I'm supposed to graduate. That way, I attend Hogwarts, learn magic, but never graduate, therefore retaining my memories and my skills.

You can leave and keep your magic if you pass the OWL exams, but you would technically not graduate.

I end up possessing magical knowledge and power without knowing where it came from? I don't see how that would be bad. Sure, I lose the childish wonder of having attended, but as an adult, I'd be content with random magic prowess and no Hogwarts nostalgia.
