If time travel is possible, then I believe that whats happened is inevitable. Lets say you tried to save Abe Lincoln and you stop the shooter, maybe instead of being killed he trips on the steps to give his speech? If time says someone will die at that given moment then so be it.

If you travel back in time to change it, you won't be there in the future to know it was a bad thing to stop it from happening in the first place if it hasn't happened yet. That's the funny thing about time travel, you get stuck in a paradox.
