Decision is easier made when you realize that the most power between the two is, indeed, in the legislative branch. Who cares if the opponents get the Presidency: if the President doesn't like something we pass, we just need 2/3 vote to override the veto.

a lot of insane people would get to be president just by following some simple liberal or conservative rules that they don't care about and claiming that they run for that party if the other party never wins. who knows, they'll be able to join even if they have some horrible beliefs.
