Even assuming that the Zombie Apocalypse happens either way, having unlimited ammo for a gun of my own choice and being immune is not worth all survivors hating me. Being around people is kinda important unless you want to go insane.

Then I'll choose a goddamned bazooka and make armour out of my families bones, so the zombies are much less likely to attack. Use a bike for transportation, no worry about fuel. Make my home on nearby big woody island, where there are no towns, and only about 3 people.
