You realize that it doesn’t specify when the dog dies, right? But all of you make this same exact argument when the downside is “you die,” so why is the overall reaction “no, I’m not killing the dog” instead of “the dog will die anyways, the button doesn’t specify when”?

The button relies on the intention of the maker, and they probably meant instantly.
